Sacred Oak CUUPS

Privacy

What we hold, why, and how to take it back.

In one sentence

We hold the least we need to, encrypt what's personal, and never sell or share with anyone outside the chapter.

If anything here is unclear or feels wrong, write to welcome@socuups.com and we'll fix it.

What we store

Your member profile

To run the member portal we keep:

  • Name + email. Email is your sign-in key.
  • Role and membership dates. So we know whether you can sign in.
  • Optional profile fields — birthday, phone, social handle, photo URL — only if you fill them in.
  • Sign-in records — the time of your last login, a session token cookie on your device, and a brief log of the IP/browser when you sign in. Auto-purged after 30 days.

That's all. We don't track your activity, run analytics, or load third-party scripts.

Encryption

What's stored encrypted

Three of your optional fields are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM:

  • Birthday
  • Phone number
  • Social media handle

The key lives only on the server, separate from the database. If our database backup ever leaked, these fields would not be readable. Name, email, and photo URL are stored as plaintext — they're either your login key or already public.

Who can see this

The chapter, no one else

Your profile is visible to:

  • You, of course.
  • Chapter admins, so they can update your membership.
  • Future: other chapter members, only on a member directory you opt into. (Not built yet.)

No automated sharing with Google, Facebook, advertisers, or anyone else. We don't even have analytics.

How to remove yourself

Right to be forgotten

Email welcome@socuups.com from the address on file and ask to be removed. An admin will:

  1. Mark your record deleted (soft delete) within a few days.
  2. Within 30 days, hard-delete the row from the database.
  3. Confirm by reply.

You can also preview what we have by visiting your profile.

Changes

If this changes

We'll edit this page and email anyone on the chapter roster if it changes meaningfully. Last updated: 2026-05-27.
